Sask Commands Military Service Recognition Book
The following information was taken directly from the Sask Command website. In order to access their publications mentioned below you will have to access their site at www.sasklegion.com
On behalf of the Saskatchewan Command of The Royal Canadian Legion, our 180 Branches and over 14,000 members, I would like to personally welcome you to this web site on which our annual publications are posted.
At this time you will be able to access and download a copy of our initial publication, a “Commemorative History Book”, highlighting the history and activities of the oldest veterans organization in Saskatchewan, The Royal Canadian Legion. This was printed in conjunction with the 80th Anniversary of The Royal Canadian Legion. You will also find a copy of our first Annual Military Service Recognition Book, recognizing and honoring many of Saskatchewan’s Veterans who have served our Country so well in time of great world conflict (WW1, WW2 and the Korean War), as well as more recent conflicts such as Afghanistan and Peacekeeping Missions. This annual publication goes a long ways to help our Legion in our job as the “Keepers of Remembrance”, so that none of us forget the selfless contributions made by our Veterans.
The Saskatchewan Command is once again sponsoring another Provincial Telephone Appeal in the Year 2009 to raise support for the publication of our annual Military Service Recognition Book. Each year Saskatchewan’s businesses are asked to purchase advertising space, and private citizens are contacted as well to request support for this important project of the Saskatchewan Command The Royal Canadian Legion.
Proceeds raised are also used to provide services to Saskatchewan’s Veterans and the over 180 local communities that we serve throughout the Province.
The Legion is recognized as one of Canada’s largest community service organizations, as we are an integral part of the communities in which we reside. This project ensures the Legion’s continued success in providing these very worthwhile services.
For further information please don’t hesitate to contact the Saskatchewan Command Office toll free at 1 866 417 8387 (VETS), or our Campaign Office at 1 866 903 1564.
